Civil Engineering and Construction - Assistant Professor in Construction

The Department of Civil Engineering and Construction at Bradley University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level starting in January or August of 2014 in the area of Construction. Duties include teaching graduate and undergraduate courses, supervising students, and attracting funded research. Salary and rank are commensurate with qualifications.

Applicants should have a background in Construction Management or related field.  Preference will be given to those with an earned doctorate in Construction or a terminal degree in Architecture.  Applicants with a Master’s degree and relevant experience are also encouraged to apply. A broad background in construction practice, CAD, project management, estimating, and scheduling, or surveying is preferred.  Applicants must possess and maintain a valid driver license.

This position provides exceptional opportunities for individuals who wish to join a first-rate multi-disciplinary department with an active Center for Emerging Technologies in Infrastructure (CETI) with strong ties to major industrial partners and eminent internationally renowned universities. The CETI hosts International Construction Innovations Conferences (http://icic.bradley.edu) and Innovations Conferences on Asphalt and Transportation (http://icat.bradley.edu). The selected candidate will work with renowned faculty who have co-authored more than 20 textbooks.  We offer unique opportunities to teach overseas through our study abroad programs in the UK, France, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Egypt, Jordan and other destinations.  The department currently has 15 full-time faculty positions and approximately 275 students.
