ASSISTANT PROFESSOR POSITION IN STRUCTURAL ENGINEERING

The Department of Civil Engineering and Construction at Bradley University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level starting in Fall 2013 in the area of Structural Engineering. 

Duties include teaching graduate and undergraduate courses, supervising students, and attracting funded research. Salary and rank are commensurate with qualifications.

Applicants should have a B.S. in Civil Engineering. 

This position requires an earned doctorate with specialization in Structural Engineering and emphasis in engineering mechanics and/or structural design.  Preference will be given to those candidates with expertise in concrete applications.  Registration as a PE in any state is desirable.

This position provides exceptional opportunities for individuals who wish to join a first-rate multi-disciplinary department with an active Center for Emerging Technologies in Infrastructure (CETI) with strong ties to major industrial partners and internationally renowned universities. The CETI hosts the Innovations Conference on Asphalt and Transportation (http://icat.bradley.edu) and the International Construction Innovations Conference (http://icic.bradley.edu).  The selected candidates will work with renowned faculty who have co-authored more than 20 textbooks.  We offer unique opportunities to teach overseas through our study abroad programs in the UK, France, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Egypt, Jordan and other destinations.  The department currently has 15 full-time faculty positions and approximately 275 students.
