Engineering - Assistant Professor in Water Resources Engineering
The Department of Civil Engineering and Construction at Bradley University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor levels starting in Fall 2011 or Spring 2012 in the area of Water Resources Engineering. Duties include teaching graduate and undergraduate courses, supervising students, and attracting funded research. Salary and rank are commensurate with qualifications.
Applicants should have a B.S. in Civil Engineering. This position requires an earned doctorate with specialization in Water Resources and emphasis in sustainability. LEED certification and registration as a PE in any state are desirable.
This position provides exceptional opportunities for individuals who wish to join a first-rate multi- disciplinary department with an active Center for Emerging Technologies in Infrastructure (CETI) that has strong ties to major industrial partners and eminent internationally renowned universities. The CETI hosts national and international conferences such as the Innovations Conference on Asphalt and Transportation and the International Construction Innovations Conference which provide opportunities to network and partner with influential business executives, political leaders and other academicians. The selected candidates will work with renowned faculty who have co-authored more than 20 textbooks. The selected candidates will also have unique opportunities to teach overseas through our study abroad programs in the UK, France, Egypt, Jordan and other destinations. The department currently has 15 full-time faculty positions and approximately 275 students. In 2008 the department set a new record in freshman enrollment and another record in 2009 with 48.7% of the incoming class being presidential scholars.
