Family and Consumer Sciences - Tenure Track Assistant Professor
The Department of Family and Consumer Sciences, College of Education and Health Sciences at Bradley University invites applications for an Assistant Professor, 9-month, tenure-track position with the possibility of summer teaching. The successful candidate will teach courses in foods and nutrition as assigned by the Chair of Family and Consumer Sciences.
Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in the area of foods, nutrition and wellness; advising undergraduate students; conducting research in area of expertise; serving on department, college and University committees; working cooperatively with staff, faculty and administration; developing professional relationships with local, state, and national agencies and organizations to promote service learning and education opportunities for students.
Candidates must have a Master’s degree in Nutrition or closely related field from a regionally accredited institution and be a Registered Dietitian. Candidates without earned doctorate will be considered, but are only eligible for tenure-track status upon completion of the terminal degree. Preference will be given to candidates with a Doctoral degree or ABD in Nutrition or related field who have prior teaching experience at the college level; food/nutrition related work experience; demonstrated research interest; ability to use technology in teaching on campus on online; evidence of working collaboratively within and outside the University; and evidence of professional service.
Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications. The expected starting date for this position is August 2013.
