Family and Consumer Sciences - Assistant Professor of Hospitality Leadership

The Department of Family and Consumer Sciences at Bradley University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level starting August 2014 with the Hospitality Leadership Program.  Duties include teaching undergraduate courses, working with hospitality industry practitioners and collaborating with colleagues.

Requirements include a Ph.D. in hospitality management (or related field) and hospitality industry work experience, as well as the demonstrated potential for student advising, curriculum development, effective written and oral communication skills, effective leadership skills, computer and technology skills, and collegiality skills with the ability to teach in more than one of the following areas: lodging, foodservice, event management, and family consumer science areas.  Preference will be given to candidates with prior teaching experience.

The person filling this position is responsible for teaching undergraduate courses in hospitality leadership and family consumer science, developing liaisons with educators, business and industry; advising undergraduate students; contributing to student recruitment and co-advising student organizations.

The Hospitality Leadership program at Bradley University started in August 2011.  There are approximately 50 students in the major, with the intent to recruit 20 more students each year.  We are looking for someone to join an exciting new team to help build a program.
