Application Hours Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, 1-4 pm; Thursday and Friday, 9-11 am.

CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide administrative support to the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (LAS), administration and faculty; function as the receptionist for the Dean’s Office; receive and coordinate telephone communications; greet visitors, students, parents, faculty and staff, and triage information to identify appropriate persons for contact and follow through; respond to questions regarding academic rules, regulations and procedures; abide by FERPA rules; clear students for graduation; maintain student files and records; assist students with class registration, change of major, transfer work, course change, cancellation and additional forms; enter students with registration, reserve and wait lists; compile and tabulate faculty course evaluations; schedule classes in Bradley and Olin Halls; coordinate ordering of office supplies; maintain student payroll scheduling and records; perform other job-related duties as assigned.

In order to meet the needs of the University, the University retains the right to assign duties and requirements to employees, determine and change starting times, quitting times and shifts and change appointment specifications.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Three years office or related experience that demonstrates: ability to work independently; make decisions; perform detailed job tasks with accuracy; effectively interact in person, via email and telephone with students, parents, University personnel and external constituents; excellent communication skills; ability to show respect and sensitivity for cultural differences; ability to work with sensitive information; editing and proofreading skills; use basic office equipment (computer, fax, phone system, copier, scanner); proficient in word processing, spreadsheet and database management applications; knowledge of accounting procedures; ability to compose correspondence; draft reports; analytical skills with ability to collect, compile and organize facts, figures, etc.; ability to work with periodic time table changes; coordinate and manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously and on deadline and ability to type 45wpm.

MENTAL/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Selected candidate must have the mental and physical capabilities to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.  Work is performed in a normal office environment with little exposure to outdoor temperatures or dirt and dust.  Working conditions are typically moderately quiet.
