Application Hours Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, 1-4 pm; Thursday and Friday, 9-11 am
CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Support the Executive Director in all aspects of administration of a busy, comprehensive career center; perform work of a confidential nature; monitor budgetary accounts; track expenditures and deposits; assist with preparation of staff budget and annual reports; assist with PowerPoint presentations; prepare correspondence and reports; assist staff with technology needs; assist with job fairs (prepare minutes and agendas, handle online employer registration; respond to employer inquiries; arrange room reservations and food orders, develop materials and reports, etc.); monitor staff leave calendar; prepare paperwork for Center’s biweekly payroll; assist in maintaining Center web site; maintain electronic and printed records and files; prepare minutes; arrange travel; assist with reception area as needed; maintain inventory of supplies; supervise student workers; perform other related duties assigned. In order to meet the needs of the University, the University retains the right to assign duties and requirements to employees, determine and change starting times, quitting times and shifts and change appointment specifications.
Three plus years of office/business experience; excellent skills in written, verbal, and personal communications; ability to show respect and sensitivity for cultural differences and work/interact with a variety of internal and external constituents are required. The successful candidate must have strong work ethic and high-level integrity with ability to work independently and exhibit sound/accurate judgment; ability to set priorities; work with sensitive information and records; proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; editing and proofreading skills; analytical skills with ability to collect, compile and organize facts, figures, etc. and triage information to identify appropriate persons for contact and follow through. Math computation skills; type 45 wpm; compose correspondence; create and run reports; handle details and multi-step processes also required. Skill with Access and PowerPoint highly preferred.

Incumbent must have the mental and physical capabilities to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation. Work is performed in a normal office environment with little exposure to outdoor temperatures or dirt and dust. Working conditions are typically moderately quiet.
