Appointment           Full-time - 37.5 hours per week during the academic year and reduced hours                                                                            during the summer

Open/Close Date   Thursday, September 5 – Thursday, September 12, 2013

Application Hours  Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, 1-4pm; Thursday and Friday, 9-11 am



Receive and route all incoming correspondence, mail, telephone calls and inquiries to the appropriate people; respond to requests for information and assistance; photocopy and scan instructional materials for instructors; type and prepare word processing documents including complex technical material (exams, syllabi, manuscripts, materials and handouts, etc.); manage student employees (select, train, supervise and complete time sheets/payroll); administer and score all placement exams; assist with identification of honor society candidates and initiation; take meeting minutes at all department meetings; typing all correspondence and maintenance of files related to department faculty searches; maintain and update department website and display cases; maintain inventory and order office supplies; maintain variety of computerized information using word processing spreadsheet, file maintenance and database software applications; other duties as assigned.  In order to meet the needs of the University, the University retains the right to assign duties and requirements to employees as well as determine and change starting times, quitting times and shifts.


Three years office/business or related experience; ability to work independently; set priorities; organize work; perform detail job tasks with accuracy; excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills; ability to effectively interact in person, via email and telephone and productively work/interact with diverse groups of people; maintain confidential information and records; ability to compose correspondence and process draft material to final copy; proficient in word processing, data entry, spreadsheet and database management applications; deal with periodic timetable changes; handle details and multi-step processes with accuracy and ability to type 45 wpm.
