Teacher Accreditation Renewed at Bradley

May 29, 2015

The College of Education and Health Sciences at Bradley has received official notification that accreditation with the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) has been renewed for the next seven years.

Bradley University’s Educator Preparation Provider (EPP) was acknowledged has having met rigorous national standards as valued and adopted by the NCATE professional education community. In fact, Bradley University received special recognition for having met all six NCATE standards and for having no areas for improvement cited for any of the standards.

The Department of Teacher Education at Bradley has added English as a Second Language (ESL) endorsement to many of its programs. With an expanding Latino population, the need to prepare teachers for the classroom of the 21st century is critical and adding an ESL endorsement will ensure graduates have the knowledge and skills to achieve success.

This honor is truly the highest level of accomplishment a School/College/Department of Education can achieve, and it distinguishes Bradley from many others in the state (only around 40 percent in Illinois are NCATE accredited).
