A Breeze on the Keys

Dr. Chee Hyeon Choi (piano), Dr. Stephen Heinemann (clarinet), and guest artist Dr. Cathy Kilroe-Smith (horn) will present "A Breeze on the Keys,” on Sunday, October 2, at 3 p.m. in Dingeldine Music Center, located at 1417 W. Barker Avenue. Admission is free and open to the public.

The program will include Robert Schumann's Fantasiestücke, op. 12 for piano solo; another Fantasiestücke for clarinet & piano, op. 76 by the same composer; Larghetto for Horn and Piano by Emmanuel Chabrier; and Trio for piano, Clarinet & Horn, op. 274 by Carl Reinecke.
Dr. Choi is a piano faculty member at Bradley University. She serves as the chair of the Collegiate Groups and the State Competition chair with the Illinois Music Teachers Association, and is the founder of the Bradley Summer Piano Music Camp.

Dr. Heinemann is professor of music theory, composition, and clarinet at Bradley University. He has performed with the Peoria Symphony Orchestra on clarinet and saxophone and is the lead alto saxophonist with the Central Illinois Jazz Orchestra.  He is a founding member of Peoria Lunaire, Bradley's music faculty chamber ensemble.

Born in Port Elizabeth, South Africa, Dr. Kilroe-Smith is the assistant professor of horn at the University of Georgia. She previously was an assistant professor at the Georgia Gwinnett College where she founded and ran the award winning Excursions Concert Series and has actively performed throughout the nation as well as in South Africa and Germany.
