Job Outlook and Job Fair Participation are Up

September 15, 2015

The economy is turning around and Bradley University students looking for a job or internship may reap the benefits.

Bradley will host its largest Fall Job and Internship Fair on Thursday with more than 190 employers expected to participate.

Jon C. Neidy, Executive Director of the Smith Career Center at Bradley says one reason for the high turnout is that the economy is turning around.  According to a new report from Georgetown University’s Center on Education and the Workforce, 2.9 million of the 6.6 million jobs added during this post-recession recovery time are "good jobs" providing high pay and, in many cases, benefits.  College students are at the front of the line for these jobs.

Neidy says another reason for the high turnout is his team has made significant efforts to engage new employers over the past two years. "Employers are recognizing how talented and prepared for the workforce our students are and these employers are ready to hire them."
