Senior To Give Solo Violin Recital April 2

Bradley senior Julie Haring will present a solo violin recital on Saturday, April 2, at 7:30 p.m. in Dingeldine Music Center, located at 1417 W. Barker Avenue. The recital is free and open to the public.

The recital will feature works by Bach, Schumann, Chopin, Muczynski, Ysaye, Still, and Rozsa. Works will be performed on violin and piano.

Originally from New Lenox, Illinois, Haring is a senior violin performance major studying with Marcia Henry Liebenow. She teaches private lessons, performs with the Bradley Symphony Orchestra, the Peoria Symphony Orchestra, and the Hilltop String Quartet. She studied at the 2013 ARIA International Summer Music Academy in Massachusetts where she studied with James Buswell, Sibbi Bernhardsson, and Greg Fulkerson. In 2014 and 2015, she attended the Arianna Chamber Music Festival in St. Louis, Missouri. In 2015, she performed as soloist with the BSO as a winner of the Concerto-Aria Competition and recently was selected as a finalist in the Delta Symphony Orchestra Concerto Competition in Jonesboro, Arkansas. At Bradley, Haring is treasurer of Sigma Alpha Iota women’s music fraternity and president of Mortar Board national senior honor society. She plans to pursue a graduate degree in violin starting in Fall 2016.
