Alumni Recognized During Founder's Day At Bradley

September 25, 2015

Hundreds gathered for the annual Founder's Day Convocation, held at Bradley University's Dingeldine Music Center. During the ceremony, founder, Lydia Moss Bradley, was remembered and four alumni were inducted into the Bradley Centurion Society.

The Centurion Society was formed in 1982 by the Board of Trustees during the University’s 85th anniversary celebration as a way to honor Bradley's exceptional alumni. While there are more than 65,000 living alumni, only a select few have been bestowed this honor.

Interim President, Dr. Stan Liberty says the resumes of the newest inductees read like a veritable Who’s Who among those making a difference on the global scale. "These individuals represent a diverse array of professions and hail from very different backgrounds. They have a record of success that is unparalleled. They are inspiring, accomplished and dedicated to their profession, their communities and their Alma Mater."

The following alumni were inducted.

Mr. Khalid Al-Naif, ’81. (also Distinguished Alumnus Award recipient)
President and CEO Al Naif & Company, Inc.

Judith Carta ’72
Director of Early Childhood Research at the Juniper Gardens Children’s Project, a Senior Scientist in the Institute for Life Span Studies, and Professor of Special Education at the University of Kansas

Mr. Bill Fairfield ’70
Chairman of Dreamfield Partners, Director of Proxibid and Director of ACASS Systems.

Clyde W. Hall ’53
Regents Professor Emeritus, Department of Engineering Technology, Savannah State University

Each inductee was presented with a Centurion medallion by President Liberty. On the medallion is a lion’s head designed by 1993 Centurion Bill Hardin. This image was adapted from the lion on Westlake Hall, where it overlooks the Bradley quad, serving as a guardian of the campus. The Centurions fill a similar role, guarding Lydia Moss Bradley’s mission and the university’s character through their outstanding achievements.
