“Drones and the Ethics of Targeted Killing” Subject of Lecture

“Drones and the Ethics of Targeted Killing” will be the subject of the first Bradley University Ethics Lecture on April 19 at 7 p.m. in the Marty Theatre in the Michel Student Center. Admission is free and open to the public.

This inaugural lecture–in what will be an annual event–will be given by Dr. Kenneth Himes of the Department of Theology at Boston College. The event is organized by the Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies to cultivate deeper ethical understanding of life.

Dr. Himes has authored the new book, Drones and the Ethics of Targeted Killing. As an ethicist, he has been analyzing the conduct of warfare in the last decade within the context of long-established theories of Just War. The public is encouraged to seize this opportunity to elevate their ethical thinking about modern warfare.

Funding for the event is provided by Bradley University’s Intellectual and Cultural Activities Committee. Direct questions to Philosophy & Religious Studies, 677-2440.
