Diversity in the Workplace Dinner

On Wednesday, April 12th, Wednesday, April 19th, Wednesday, April 26th the Smith Career Center and the Office of Diversity and Inclusion will host the Diversity in the Workplace dinner and reception on 3 separate nights. This event has been created to help you engage in diversity-related topics and dialogue. Local recruiters and professionals will also be attending to provide you with networking advice, diversity perspectives and career-related mentorship.

Location: Hartmann Center for the Performing Arts (Founder's Room)

  • Space is limited to 26 students per evening!
  • Dinner will be provided at no charge!

By registering to attend this event, you are required to attend at least one of the following preparation workshops. If you attend both workshops, then you will receive complimentary business cards and a padfolio. These workshops are required to help you make a good first impression during the event.

  • Networking Workshop: April 5th, 5:00-6:00 p.m. (Garrett Center)
  • Dining Etiquette Workshop: April 6th, 5:00-6:00 p.m. (Garrett Center)

If you are unable to attend Diversity in the Workplace after registering, please call the Smith Career Center at least two days prior to the event in order to cancel your RSVP. This event will have a waiting list of students who would like to attend, so your timely cancellation and courtesy is appreciated. To cancel, call 309-677-2510.

If you fail to attend without proper cancellation, you will be required to meet with your career advisor and submit a letter of apology to the sponsoring employer. This letter is to be given to the Smith Career Center's receptionist within the time frame determined by your career advisor. No-Show Policy
