PARKING UPDATE!
Due to a construction project that was pushed up on campus, the University entrance will be blocked off. The main intersection at Bradley is University and Main streets.
From University Street:
If you are traveling South away from I-74 on University Street you will turn right onto Main and take the first left into campus (seconds after you turn onto Main Street). Once onto campus you will turn left at the first stop sign and then right at the second stop sign. The parking deck is on your left and the gate will be open.
From Main Street:
If you are driving from downtown Peoria on Main Street, pass through the traffic signal at Main and University, and turn left into campus (seconds after you turn onto Main Street). At the first stop sign turn left, and then turn right at the second stop sign. The parking deck is on your left and the gate will be open.
We thank you for your understanding. If you are having trouble, please call us at (309) 472-6007.

Why is orientation necessary?
At Bradley, we feel
it is very important for incoming students to become acquainted
with the campus and dorm life. During summer orientation,
students will also register for fall semester classes and learn
about the many organizations and facilities Bradley has to offer.
Summer orientation is MANDATORY for incoming freshmen.
Why is orientation 2 and 1/2 days
long?
We realize that 2
and 1/2 days is a big commitment from both parents and students.
Going to college is a very big step in a person's life and during
orientation, we want to make that transition as smooth as possible.
We have those 2 and 1/2 days jam-packed with activities, informational
meetings, and social events.
Students participate
in placement testing, course registration, discussions of campus
issues, and many other important activities. Other university
support topics to be presented include: The Center for Wellness
and Counseling; the Smith Career Center; Financial Assistance; the
Center for Co-curricular Development; the Honors Program; and the
Center for Housing, Residential life and the Student Judicial System.
Are parents encouraged to attend
orientation with their student?
Yes! We invite parents
to accompany their student at orientation. Bradley provides
many activities specifically for parents to attend. You will
have the opportunity to meet other parents who are going through
the same experience. Parents may also attend a luncheon
with the Academic Deans and other university administrators.
Parents can lodge
in a separate residence hall on campus or they may choose to stay
in a hotel. Even if you can only stay for part of the time,
we invite you to learn more about Bradley and the university experience
with your student.
When will students receive information
about orientation?
Students and parents
will receive an orientation invitation through the mail the first
week of May. Included will be details about the orientation
program, a campus map, and information on how to register.
Where Can I find my BUnetID and PIN Code?
Included in the Orientation Packet mailed to each student's home address the early part of May is a DVD. On the back of the DVD case is a label with the student's BUnetID and PIN Code. Once activated, these pin numbers will allow you to register for classes during and after summer orientation and your BUnetID and Password will grant you the ability to access your e-mail account.
Will students and parents see much
of each other during orientation?
Probably not very
much. Orientation is tightly packed with separate activities
for parents and students. But parents and students will both
attend the opening, breakfasts, and the closing ceremonies together.
What should my student bring to orientation?
All of the students
will be staying in a residence hall during orientation. Bedding
and sheets are provided. The following items are recommended:
- Pillow
- Alarm clock
- Towels and toiletries
- Casual clothing and shoes
- Extra money for souvenirs and
snacks (meals will be provided)
Where exactly will the students be staying?
All the students
(except for session 13) will be staying in University Hall. University
Hall is an air-conditioned dorm and has double-occupancy rooms.
Men and women will be on separate
floors and there will be three student aides on each floor.
Keys will be given
to the students as they register for orientation and are used for
access to the building and to their rooms. Students attending
the very last orientation session in August will move directly into
their assigned residence halls for the year.
What time does orientation end on
the last day?
The closing ceremony
begins around 12:00pm (Noon) and lasts for about one-half hour. We
ask that the students and parents be checked out of the residence
halls by 2pm.
How many students are in each orientation
session?
There are approximately
80 students per orientation session. At Bradley, we
want to keep the attendance relatively low so we can give each student
the individual attention he or she deserves.
Who can I contact for further information?
If you have any questions, please call
the Center for Orientation and Advisement at (309) 677-2420.
