The Bradley Advantage

As an early childhood education major, you will be licensed to teach in nursery school, preschool and kindergarten through second grade. The degree includes special education certification for the state of Illinois and an ESL endorsement that requires 100 hours of field experience. To ensure you spend as much time as possible in classrooms, you observe classes your first year and will work in classrooms throughout your four years at Bradley. You also have opportunities to tutor children and mentor adults with developmental or intellectual disabilities.

Successful Outcomes

Bradley’s early childhood education program successfully prepares you to enter the workforce or graduate school. Education students boast a 100 percent pass rate on Illinois licensure tests and almost all find jobs or continue their education within six months of graduation. They’re working throughout Illinois, Iowa, Missouri, North Carolina, Texas and Wisconsin. Others are attending graduate schools at institutions such as the Art Institute of Chicago, Rhode Island School of Design and Ohio State University.
