Illinois Ballet and Bradley Chorale present Brahms Waltzes
Peoria, Illinois Ð April 9, 2003 Ð The Illinois Ballet and
the Bradley University Chorale will present Johannes Brahms's
Liebeslieder (lovesong) Waltzes, Opus 52, on Thursday, April
24, at 7:30 p.m., in the Dingeldine Music Center, located at
1417 W. Barker Avenue.
Admission is $5 for adults and free for students.
Mary Price Boday, artistic director of the Illinois Ballet, is
choreographer, and Richard Weil is technical director for the
production. The Chorale is directed by Dr. John Jost, and the
piano-four hand accompaniment will be provided by Edward and
Janet Kaizer.
Besides the waltzes, the program will include other Brahms
piano and choral selections performed by the Kaizers and by
the Bradley Madrigal Singers.
The Illinois Ballet, formerly the Central Illinois Ballet, is
a professional company made up of adult professional dancers
who are paid for their work as artists. Edward and Janet
Kaizer are both members of the music faculty at Bradley and
are well known both locally and internationally. The 46-member
Chorale has performed extensively across the United States and
Europe, winning national and international recognition. The
Chorale and Madrigal Singers recently returned from an
eight-day tour, presenting concerts in Louisville, Nashville,
Atlanta, and the Tampa and Sarasota areas in Florida.
