Bradley Jazz Ensembles to present "WeÕre Off to Europe" concert

Peoria, Illinois . . . April 16, 2003 . . . The Bradley Jazz Ensemble and Jazz Lab Band, under the direction of Dr. Todd Kelly, will present their "We're Off to Europe" concert on Saturday, May 3, at 7:30 p.m. in the Dingeldine Music Center, located at 1417 W. Barker Avenue.

The 18-member Jazz Ensemble will perform a variety of swing and Latin music, including ÒCruisinÕ for a BluesinÓ and ÒMinuano.Ó They also will feature Bradley faculty members Steve Heinemann, Carl Anderson, and Toby Curtright. The Jazz Ensemble is the flagship ensemble of BradleyÕs jazz program, and has recently performed at the Elmhurst Jazz Festival, the Illinois Collegiate Jazz Festival, and the Cherry Street Brewing Company in Galesburg. On June 30, the group leaves for a ten-day tour of France and Switzerland, which will culminate in a performance at the prestigious Montreux Jazz Festival.

The Jazz Lab Band will open the evening with ÒCopy Cat,Ó ÒThe Old Man and the Z,Ó ÒDreamsville,Ó and ÒThe Flintstones.Ó

Tickets are $3 and admission is free for students.
