WCBU wins regional and national awards
The WCBU News Department is the winner of a Regional 2003
Edward R. Murrow Award from the Radio-Television Radio News
Directors Association for the stationŐs series of pieces on
the closing of the Zeller Mental Health Center in Peoria.

WCBU competed against other small market commercial and
public radio stations in the region that includes
Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, and Ohio. The winning
regional entry is now a finalist for a National Murrow
award in that category.
WCBU's Brian Siewiorek recently received a Silver
Reel Award from the National Federation of
Community Broadcasters for his production of the
WCBU "Used Music Sale" promotions. The NFCB's
Community Radio Program Awards celebrate
productions that exemplify the outstanding and
creative use of radio.
