Bradley University mid-year commencement is December 20
Peoria, Illinois...December 8, 2003... Bradley University's
mid-year commencement ceremony will be held on Saturday,
December 20, at 10 a.m. in the Robertson Memorial Field House
on the Bradley campus. Caterpillar Professor of Art and
Chairman of the Department of Art Harold Linton will give the
commencement address.
Pastor Deveraux Hubbard of St. Paul Baptist Church
will give the invocation and benediction. Oscar
Gillespie, associate professor of art, will be the
honorary marshal.
Linton joined the faculty at Bradley in 1998 and is
responsible for resource development, program
innovation, and curriculum development. He currently
is working with faculty to develop new studios and
courses in papermaking and book arts and is pursuing
new initiatives for studio facility and design program
development.
Linton's works are included in collections throughout
the Midwest and his painting "Four Seasons" is
displayed in the United States Embassy in Helsinki,
Finland. More than 200 universities or schools of art
use his book "Portfolio Design." He is considered one
of the foremost educators in the fields of design and
architecture and is among the most widely read and
referenced educators in the country.
