Broadway Lights and Opera Stars to be performed at Bradley
Peoria, Illinois . . . January 23, 2003 . . . The Bradley
University Department of Music will present Broadway Lights
and Opera Stars, an afternoon of opera and musical theatre
favorites, on Sunday, February 9, at 3 p.m. in the Dingeldine
Music Center, located at 1417 W. Barker Avenue.
Memorable music from Carmen, La Traviata, Rigoletto, The
Fantasticks and much more will be performed by Bradley voice
faculty Kerry Walters, John Jost, Gina Wright and Shirley
Salazar, pianist Molly Sloter, and Bradley alumni and friends
Debra Austin, Lee Wenger, Pete Driscoll and Denise Adams.
Internationally acclaimed tenor Thomas Booth also will be
featured in the performance. Trained at the Juilliard School
he has sung principal and leading roles for nine seasons with
the Metropolitan Opera and for five with Lyric Opera of
Chicago and New York City Opera. He is currently on the
faculties of Monmouth, Knox and Carl Sandburg Colleges.
The concert is part of the Music Scholarship Concert Series,
which provides scholarships to talented undergraduate
musicians majoring in music at Bradley. Tickets are $5 and
available at the Cultural Events Box Office in the Hartmann
Center on the Bradley campus. Box Office hours are Monday
