Bradley Chorale to present spring concert
Peoria, Illinois . . . March 3, 2003 . . . The Bradley University
Chorale will present its spring concert on Sunday, March 30,
at 3 p.m. in Dingeldine Music Center, located at 1417 W.
Barker Avenue.
The Chorale will present a wide variety of styles of music
from English Renaissance to Haitian, and will feature music
with brass ensemble, both early Baroque and contemporary. The
principal work on the program will be Norman Dello Joio's "To
St. Cecilia" for choir and brass. The Bradley Madrigal
Singers will also perform, including vocal jazz arrangements
as well as music to Shakespearean texts.
The 45-member choir, directed by Dr. John Jost, has performed
extensively across the United States and Europe, winning
national and international recognition. Last year the Chorale
performed for both the Illinois Music Educators Association
All-State Conference and the American Choral Directors
Association Central Division Convention, and next year the
Chorale will make a ten-day concert tour of Denmark and
Sweden.
