Internationally-known physicist, author to lecture at Bradley
Peoria, Illinois . . . March 21, 2003 . . . Internationally-known
theoretical physicist Lawrence Krauss, author of The Physics
of Star Trek and Beyond Star Trek, will lecture at Bradley
University on Monday, April 7, at 7 p.m. in the Michel Student
Center, located at 915 N. Elmwood.
"Peoria Atom, A Cosmic Odyssey" will be the topic of the
lecture which is free and open to the public.
Hailed by many as the successor to Carl Sagan, Krauss is a
professor of astronomy and chair of the physics department at
Case Western Reserve University. With wide research
interests, including the interface between elementary particle
physics and cosmology, his studies include the early universe,
the nature of dark matter, general relativity and neutrino
astrophysics. He has investigated questions ranging from the
nature of exploding stars to issues of the origin of all mass
in the universe.
Professor Krauss is the author of more than 180 scientific
publications, as well as numerous popular articles on physics
and astronomy.
The lecture is sponsored by the Bradley Intellectual and
Cultural Affairs Committee, in cooperation with Lakeview
Museum.
