Bradley
Peoria, Illinois . . . March 13, 2003 . . . Dr. Harry K. Wong
(pictured at right), one of the nation's leading speakers in the field
of education, gave
a presentation for Bradley faculty, student teachers, and
local school administrators, staff, and teachers today at 1
p.m. in Dingeldine Music Center. His topic will be, "How to be
a Super Successful and Effective Teacher."
Dr. Wong's visit to Peoria is co-sponsored by the Bradley
College of Education and Health Sciences and the Peoria County
Regional Superintendent's Office.
"I believe teaching excellence is the single most important
factor in student achievement," said Joan Sattler, Dean of
the College of Education and Health Sciences. "We prepare
teachers with strong backgrounds in the academic content as
well as in the practice of teaching. We want our students
who are preparing to be teachers to have an opportunity to
have direct exposure to Dr. Wong's ideas because of his
outstanding reputation of mentoring teachers with best
practice methods in mind."
Dr. Wong is a distinguished lecturer, author, and 35-year
veteran of the classroom. He is the author of more than 30
publications including "The First Days of School," a staple
for first year teachers in school districts across the
country. He has given more than 3,000 presentations and has
lectured in every state in America and in Canada, South
America, Asia, Africa and Europe. His presentations focus
on classroom management, student achievement, instructional
excellence and multicultural inclusion.
