Magazine editor is featured speaker at writers workshop
Peoria, Illinois . . . March 21, 2003 . . . The Friends of
Cullom-Davis Library at Bradley University will sponsor a
one-day Writers Workshop on June 14 from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
in the Michel Student Center, located at 915 N. Elmwood in
Peoria.
The workshop is designed to acquaint current and aspiring
writers with the benefits of writing, provide learning and
networking opportunities, and raise additional funds for the
Library book endowment. Workshop topics will include writing
for children, characterization, creative writing, genre
writing, non-fiction, historical fiction, poetry, editing,
publishing and much more.
Jane Friedman, managing editor of Writer's Digest magazine and
executive editor of The Novel Writer, will be the keynote
speaker. She will discuss the status of writing, book markets,
and future influences and challenges.
The registration fee is $100 and includes continental
breakfast, lunch, and handouts. The student fee is $80. For
