Two elected to Bradley Board of Trustees
Peoria, Illinois . . . November 3, 2003 . . . The Bradley
University Board of Trustees recently elected Hersey Hawkins,
Jr. of Memphis, Tennessee and David A. Rich of Buffalo, New
York to serve six-year terms on the Board.
Mr. Hawkins is a broadcast commentator for the National
Basketball Association Memphis Grizzlies and former NBA and
Bradley basketball player. He graduated from Bradley in 1988
earning a Bachelor of Science degree in mass communications.
He was a member of the United State's Olympic basketball team
in 1988 and received the NBA Good Sportsmanship Award in
1999. He was inducted into the Bradley Hall of Fame in
February of this year, was named Outstanding Young graduate
in 1995, and was inducted into Bradley's Centurion Society in
1997. He has served on the Bradley Council since 1992.
Mr. Rich is secretary and director of Rich Products
Corporation, which is privately owned and operated by the
Rich family. He is executive director of the Rich Family
Foundation and a full-time Anglican minister. He received a
Bachelor of Arts degree in religious studies from Bradley in
1970 and a Master of Divinity degree in 1975 from Virginia
Theological Seminary.
