Bradley President's Award recipients named
Peoria, Illinois ... November 3, 2003 ... George and Norma
Kottemann and the Par-A-Dice Gaming Corporation/Boyd Gaming
Corporation were named recipients of the Bradley University
2003 President's Award during the annual Appreciation Dinner
on October 23. The award is given annually to an individual
and a business, corporation or other entity whose
philanthropy, service and leadership have made extraordinary
contributions to Bradley's development.
The Kottemanns, awarded the 2003 President's Award for
individuals, have endowed a scholarship for a senior or
graduate student majoring in art with an emphasis in
sculpture, provided a named gift for the sculpture studio in
the Heuser Art Center, and funded the graduate art studio
space for the department of art since 1991. They have
encouraged others in the community to become patrons,
volunteers, and collectors by serving as charter members of
the University's Friends of Art program and through their
involvement in the Bradley National Print and Drawing
Exhibition. The Kottemanns are members of the Founder's
Society. In addition, Mrs. Kottemann, a Bradley alumna,
serves as chairperson of the Bradley Council, is an active
member of CIBAC, and has served on the National Alumni
Association Board for three years.
Par-A-Dice Gaming Corporation, the corporate recipient of the
2003 President's Award, made a pacesetting unrestricted gift
from its officers, directors, and shareholders to the Campaign
for Bradley in the 1990s and recently established an endowed
scholarship for business students.
