Student to give trumpet recital
Peoria, Illinois . . . November 17, 2003 . . . Michelle
Glasscock, a junior majoring in trumpet performance at Bradley
University, will present a trumpet recital in Dingeldine Music
Center, located at 1417 W. Bradley Avenue, on Saturday,
November 22, at 7:30 p.m.
Michelle is the daughter of Michael and Melenka Glasscock of
Dunlap and a 2001 graduate of Illinois Valley Central High
School in Chillicothe. She is a student of Dr. Todd Kelly of
the Bradley music faculty and is preparing for a career in
performance and collegiate music education.
The recital will feature many standard works that will show
off the power and beauty of the trumpet. To close the recital
a work for three piccolo trumpets will be performed. Michelle
will be featuring Concerto for Trumpet by Artunian, Sonata for
Trumpet by Halsey Stevens, and Concerto in D Major by Leopold
Mozart. Other composers featured are Joseph Turrin and Bert
Truax.
