Karen Kunc is Cradle Oak Press Visiting Artist
Peoria, Illinois...October 21, 2003... Printmaker Karen Kunc
will serve as the 2003 Cradle Oak Press Visiting Artist at
Bradley University from November 3 through 7. Her work will
be exhibited in the Hartmann Center gallery, at the corner of
St. James and Elmwood Streets on the Bradley campus, through
November 16.
Kunc will present a lecture titled, "Circular Distance: An
Artist's Journey, " as part of the Visual Voices Professional
Lecture Series, on Thursday, November 6, at 6:30 p.m. in the
Heuser Art Center, room 105. An artist reception will be held
in the Hartmann Center gallery on November 4 from 6 to 7:30
p.m.
Kunc, professor of art at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln,
has exhibited woodcut prints and artist's books nationally and
internationally and is active in both the Southern Graphics
Council and the Mid-American Print Council.
The Cradle Oak Press is the master printmaking studio of the
Department of Art. The Press showcases an internationally
acclaimed artist each year to print and interact with students
in the production of a major work. At the completion of the
edition, which is pulled by Bradley's master printer Oscar
Gillespie, the Hartmann Center gallery presents an exhibition
highlighting the completed print and other examples of the
artist's work.
