Peoria, Illinois...October 21, 2003... Printmaker Karen Kunc will serve as the 2003 Cradle Oak Press Visiting Artist at Bradley University from November 3 through 7. Her work will be exhibited in the Hartmann Center gallery, at the corner of St. James and Elmwood Streets on the Bradley campus, through November 16.

Kunc will present a lecture titled, "Circular Distance: An Artist's Journey, " as part of the Visual Voices Professional Lecture Series, on Thursday, November 6, at 6:30 p.m. in the Heuser Art Center, room 105. An artist reception will be held in the Hartmann Center gallery on November 4 from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

Kunc, professor of art at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, has exhibited woodcut prints and artist's books nationally and internationally and is active in both the Southern Graphics Council and the Mid-American Print Council.

The Cradle Oak Press is the master printmaking studio of the Department of Art. The Press showcases an internationally acclaimed artist each year to print and interact with students in the production of a major work. At the completion of the edition, which is pulled by Bradley's master printer Oscar Gillespie, the Hartmann Center gallery presents an exhibition highlighting the completed print and other examples of the artist's work.
