Peoria, Illinois ... October 27, 2003 ... A seminar titled, "Next Stop: the EU" will be presented on Monday, November 17, from 1:30 to 3 p.m. in Baker Hall room B52 on the Bradley University campus. There is not cost to attend the seminar, but registration is required.

On May 1, 2004, the European Union will open its doors to 10 new members, many of them from Central and Eastern Europe. The seminar will focus on the ways a company should position itself to take advantage of the changes, and what business opportunities might exist as these countries prepare to join the EU.

Program speakers Sandy Owens, senior commercial officer of the U.S. Embassy in Slovakia, and Scott Bozek, senior commercial officer of the U.S. Embassy in Hungary, will be available for one-on-one meetings following the seminar.

For more information or to register, visit www.bradely.edu/turnercenter/EU or call (309) 677-3631. Please register no later than November 14.

The seminar was developed through a partnership between the U.S. Small Business Administration, the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity, and the International Trade Center at Bradley University as a service to Illinois small businesses.
