Alumni Showcase Concert part of Homecoming activities at BU
Peoria, Illinois -- September 8, 2003 -- The Bradley Music
Department will present an Alumni Showcase Concert as part of
Bradley Homecoming Week activities on Saturday, October 4, at
3 p.m. in the Dingeldine Music Center, located at 1417 W.
Barker Avenue. Mezzo-soprano Alisa Grundmann, violinist
Laraine Kaizer, and a Homecoming Alumni Chorale will be
featured in the concert.
Alisa Grundmann, who received her bachelor of music in voice
with a minor in German from Bradley, is studying at the
Peabody Conservatory of Music in Baltimore. After graduating
from Bradley, where she studied with Dr. Kerry Walters, she
continued German studies at the University of Vienna. Her most
recent roles at Peabody include Bessie in Kurt Weill's
Mahagonny Songspiel and La Messagiera in Monteverdi's Orfeo.
She is a recent winner in the Maryland Opera Society Vocal
Arts Competition. Her newest projects include a sacred music
recital and a Kurt Weil Cabaret collaboration with the
BaltimoreTheater Project.
Laraine Kaizer is working on her doctorate in violin
performance at the University of Cincinnati
College-Conservatory of Music where she studies with Kurt
Sassmannshaus. She received her masterŐs degree at Indiana
University in Bloomington studying with Mauricio Fuks and her
bachelorŐs degree from Bradley studying with Marcia Henry.
She currently teaches a large studio of violin students
through the University of Cincinnati and the Starling Kids
program of which she is the director.
The Alumni Chorale will include members of the Bradley Chorale
who have graduated in the last several decades. They will
perform choral favorites. Chorale alumni interested in
