"Hooray for Bradleywood" is Homecoming theme
Peoria, Illinois -- September 10, 2003 -- The Bradley
University Homecoming celebration with the theme,
"Hooray for Bradleywood," will be held on campus on
October 2 through 5. Homecoming, Founder's Day, Greek
Week and reunions will be combined into one four-day
celebration.
Events will begin on Thursday, October 2, with a
Homecoming pep rally at Olin Quad. On Friday, events
begin with the Founder's Day Convocation at 10 a.m. in
Dingeldine Music Center. The volleyball team will
match up against Creighton at 6 p.m. in Robertson
Memorial Field House. The Homecoming Parade will
begin at 6:30 p.m. at St. James Apartment Complex and
wind through campus before heading to Shea Stadium
where a tailgate party will be held. Guests may bring
their own food to the tailgate party, or purchase hot
dogs, chips and soft drinks on site. The soccer team
will play Vanderbilt at 8 p.m. at Shea Stadium. A
fireworks show will follow the game.
Events begin on Saturday with an alumni golf outing at
7:30 a.m. at Weaver Ridge Golf Course. The Gary R.
Tippett Memorial Homecoming 5K race will begin at 8:30
a.m. at the Michel Student Center atrium.
A Homecoming Festival will be held on Saturday at 11
a.m. at Meinen Field at St. James Place. The new
Meinen Field will be dedicated in honor of Dutch
Meinen at
12:30 p.m. The volleyball team will play Drake at 5
p.m. in Robertson Memorial Field House.
Events on Sunday include a pre-game alumni gathering
at noon at Shea Stadium where Avanti's gondolas,
chips and soft drinks will be available for $2. The
soccer team plays Western Kentucky at 1 p.m. at Shea
Stadium.
