Noe receives Lydia Moss Bradley Award

Peoria, Illinois...October 3, 2002...Michelle M. Noe, assistant director of experiential education for the Smith Career Center at Bradley University, was awarded the 2002 Lydia Moss Bradley Award during the Founder's Day luncheon at Bradley today.

The Lydia Moss Bradley Award honors outstanding service to Bradley in the tradition its founder. Mrs. Bradley's vision in founding Bradley Polytechnic Institute was to shape young people's lives and help them understand the value of an education and the importance of hard work. She wanted them to lead successful lives and was willing to dedicate both her time and savings for that purpose.

Noe received a bachelor's degree from Bradley in 1998. Since her graduation, she has served as a mentor and role model for students, an alumni chapter leader, and an advisor and facilitator for classes and organizations at Bradley. Noe became an alumni leader for Sigma Nu, was instrumental in improving their recruitment process, and acted as a mentor and facilitator for their leadership programs.

Ms. Noe serves on the March of Dimes board of directors and the Central Illinois Bradley Alumni Chapter board of directors as vice president of activities. She is an ambassador for the Peoria Area Chamber of Commerce and is active in the Take the Lead Program, Operation Snowball/Snowflake and the Teens Encounter Christ Program.

She established the Michelle M. Noe Communication Leadership Endowed Award to recognize an outstanding senior majoring in Communications at Bradley.
