The Division of University Relations at Bradley is responsible for all print and broadcast communication directed to the University's constituencies. This helps assure that Bradley presents accurate information and a consistent image. For this reason, the Division of University Relations also will oversee electronic publications for the University's World Wide Web home page. Official PagesBradley's World Wide Web page is considered an official university publication as well as a campus-wide information source. As with printed publications, only approved University information will be communicated on Bradley's home page and all other official pages that are linked to it. Administrative and academic units are encouraged to develop official pages for linkage to the Bradley home page so that a comprehensive view of the University is offered. Official pages will be linked to appropriate, previously created categories on the Bradley home page after review and approval by the University Relations staff. Design and Content of Official PagesAdministrative and academic units are responsible for developing their own pages using the graphics, photos, styleguide, and template supplied by the Division of University Relations and available on the web site (Review the documents on the Bradley home page at http://www.bradley.edu/help/). Whenever possible, links to other sites on the Bradley home page should be created. This will reduce duplication of effort and help ensure consistency and accuracy. Members of the Computing Services staff and the staff of the Division of University Relations will be available in an advising capacity to assist those developing official pages (see addendum). Developers creating official pages must have the approval of their dean, department head, or director. When the page is completed, contact the Division of University Relations for approval (Review submission form at http://www.bradley.edu/submissions). When approved, the page may be linked to the Bradley home page in the appropriate category area. All files for official pages must be placed on the lydia server. Copyright and trademark rules must be observed. Graphics, video, audio or text created by another person may not be placed on a page without demonstrated permission of the artist or author. Photographs other than those taken by the Bradley University photographer should be approved by University Relations staff before being placed on official pages. MaintenanceDepartments, colleges, and offices creating official pages are responsible for the timely updating of the text and images contained on those pages. A page manager must be appointed and periodic review of content must be made. Contact information including a phone number and email address for the page manager and a stamp indicating the date of the last update should be placed on the official page. If, through random checks, a problem in content or design is discovered, the page manager will be contacted with a request that the problem be corrected. If it is not corrected, the page will be removed from the Bradley home page. Personal Home PagesOfficial university information may not be included on personal home pages and the creator assumes all responsibility for the content of his or her personal page. Links may be created to official pages from personal pages. Personal home pages will be linked to the Bradley home page through the faculty/staff or student directory only.
