This Guide has been prepared to assist Bradley faculty, staff, and students as they plan programs and events to be held in University facilities. Please review all sections of the Guide.

Scheduling and Planning

Depending upon the nature of the event, faculty, staff, and students sho uld contact one of following individuals to help them plan events and schedule a ctivities:

Non-Academic Programs

Charmin Hibberd in the Scheduling Office (x3056) schedules rooms in the Student Center for one-time non-academic events as well as faculty or staff committee meetings.

The Director of Conference Facilities assists off-campus groups in sched uling non-academic conferences and schedules the field house and most academic c lassrooms once released by the Registrar's Office and in cooperation with approp riate authorities. Both of these offices will assist with scheduling food and a udio-visual services.

54 The Division of Continuing Education and Professional Development coordi nates and approves all academic conferences, institutes, seminars, workshops, no n-credit courses and similar educational programs. 55

56 In addition, the Division coordinates and supports all contract and off- campus credit courses. 57 58 These activities may be held on or off campus, with "live" instruction o r by alternative delivery systems such as digital compressed video, satellite do wn/uplink, or videotapes. 59 60 Division staff members will manage marketing the program and the financi al and operational details of the event including room scheduling and audio-visu al services. 61 62 63

64 For Student Activities

The Director of Student Activities approves all activities exclusively f or students and develops a student activitiy calendar on the basis of requests f or activities in advance of June 1 each year. After this date, activities will b e approved in the order received provided they do not conflict with those alread y scheduled. Any conflicting request for dates for student activities or functions will be referred to the Director of Student Activities who will determine which meeting will be given preference. Students are responsible for planning and acquiring all relevant services for programs.

Student organization lectures, concerts and entertainment programs will be arranged by the Activities Council of Bradley University (ACBU) and/or other organizations with student activities funding and produced in conjunction with t he Student Activities Office. Special lectures will be arranged by the appropria te faculty or student committee and will be scheduled through the appropriate of fice for the facilities required.

University athletic events will be scheduled by the Director of Athletics with the approval of the faculty committee on intercollegiate athletics. All dates will be reported to the Director of Student Activities for inclusion in the Campus Events Calendar.
