Class Hightlights

Class of 2010

Two years ago we began PT school as individuals seeking to do well, with goals of becoming young professionals and making our mark on the world. As graduation approaches in just one short year, we have come to realize that there is more to PT school than just studying muscles and neuropathways. Actually, it is the experiences with each other that have made this experience of PT school both challenging and fun.

As we enter our last semester of coursework, we have encountered differential diagnosis, which is a compilation of all that we have learned thus far in the program. This class tests our abilities as physical therapists and forces us to realize how important a thorough evaluation can be for our patient’s care. While we are challenging each other in this course, we are also cherishing our time together through intramural sporting events. Finally, we are also in the process of planning our graduation ceremony for the spring. We are excited, yet sad to realize that we have only one semester of classes left together as one unit, but we plan to continue making memories to carry with us as graduates of BU DPT 2010.

Class of 2011

Greetings from the Class of 2011! It seems like only yesterday we were the new “first years” starting PT school. It’s hard to believe we have more than one full year under our belts with less than two more to go. We kicked off our second summer with an eight-week spine class where we learned all about evidence-based practice and the use of spinal mobilization and manipulation in PT treatment. Our summer ended with our first eight-week clinical. Spread throughout the state of Illinois and working in a variety of settings, we had the opportunity to apply our knowledge and practice our skills in patient care.

We are now back to the grind this fall semester with neurological rehab and teaching and learning in physical therapy. Research projects are under way with groups working on data collection and analysis to be presented in the spring Bradley Student Expo.

Outside of classes, we continue to participate in intramural sports hoping to add to our T-shirt collection this year. Fundraising has begun for CSM 2010 San Diego. We will be hosting a night at Jimmy’s with Rob Bertram’s band on Oct. 17 for anyone in the area wanting to support Bradley PT and help our class get to San Diego!

Welcome Class of 2012!

Hello from the DPT Class of 2012! We are all excited to have begun the program this past June. We have a strong class of 24 students, 18 of whom are from Bradley. We are a young class, ranging in age from 21 to 26. We recently held our class officer elections and are busy thinking of fundraiser ideas for our trip to New Orleans in February 2011 for the APTA’s Combined Sections Meeting. Our first moneymaker is going to be selling cookbooks filled with the wonderful recipes that we bring to class on almost a daily basis.

We are anxiously awaiting our first clinical assignment for January 2010. Everyone is excited to practice what we have been learning and start helping people. Our orthopedics class is keeping us busy this semester, and we continue to look forward to all the great learning and teaching opportunities at Bradley. We keep busy outside of class by playing sports, working, and volunteering in the community.
