The Campaign for a Bradley Renaissance

Markin Family Student Center

At last!

After about 550 days of construction Bradley University will dedicate its new 130,000-square-foot Markin Family Student Recreation Center at 10:30 a.m. October 23, marking a new era on campus.

Parking will be available in the new parking deck located on Main Street with shuttle service to the Center. Refreshments and tours will immediately follow the ceremony.

The facility is absolutely remarkable, adding many new and exciting areas to campus. It will offer almost four times the space for exercise equipment than its predecessor, Haussler Hall, which was dedicated in 1976. In addition, the recreation center will have a natatorium, five basketball courts, two racquetball courts, a rock climbing wall, a bouldering wall, and a Multi-Activity Court (MAC court), which has permanent dasher boards, rounded corners, and recessed goals.

Academically, the Department of Nursing will have laboratory space and state-of-the-art classrooms. The Health Center, Wellness Center and Campus Recreation also will be located in the three-floor building.
