SBDC Presents "Employee Asset Management Series"

by Ken Klotz, SBDC Director

Each month, the Small Business Development Center receives more than a dozen inquiries from area business owners concerning human resource management issues. To respond to this need, the Bradley SBDC, in Spring 2003, presented a fourpart series on human resource management, entitled "Employee Asset Management Certificate Series". This 32-hour training program was designed to provide business owners and managers with new skills to better manage their employee functions. The topics discussed included the following:

Rick Galbreath, President of Human Resources Growth Partners, Inc. in Bloomington, was the dynamic leader of the training series. Mr. Galbreath has over 25 years experience in human resources management. In addition to presenting training programs, he provides consulting services to businesses of all sizes. One participant remarked: "I have attended, and sent other personnel to numerous seminars, and Rick's seminars have been the best we have encountered. Rick is very knowledgeable and keeps the entire day interesting." Due to participant response, we anticipate making this series an annual event.

The two and a half hour breakfast seminar covered the current situation in Iraq, challenges and barriers to doing business in Iraq, funding sources for projects in Iraq, opportunities for business in Iraq, how to do business with Iraq, and resources available to businesses focused on Iraq.

For more information on this seminar including a copy of the presentation or on how to do business with Iraq, please contact Dave Williams, International Trade Specialist, International Trade Center at (309) 677-3075 or send him an email.
