"Certificate In Small Business Management" Returns For Third Year

In September 2003, Bradley's Small Business Development Center will present its "Certificate in Small Business Management" Program for the third consecutive year. The Certificate Program is designed to provide in-depth training to small-business owners, managers, and next generation owners on practical business management techniques. It is ideally suited for those business managers who have not had a formal business education. The goal is to enable business managers to remove the guesswork out of day-to-day business management decisions.

One specific program change for 2003 pertains to the scheduling of class sessions. Previously, all training sessions were held in the evening and were spread over a six-month period. The 2003 Certificate Program will involve a series of half-day sessions and two full-day sessions, beginning in September and concluding before Christmas 2003.

Session topics will include the following:

• human resource laws, interviewing, and personnel files
• worker's compensation and unemployment reduction strategies
• customer service training for management and employees
• financial statement management
• marketing on a shoestring budget
• tax reduction strategies
