Special Emphasis Student Travel Fund Program

The Special Emphasis Student Travel Grant Program (SEST)  is intended to support the travel costs of full-time, degree-seeking Bradley students (undergraduate and graduate) who have been accepted to present or showcase their research, scholarship, or creative work at peer-reviewed/refereed/juried conferences, meetings, and events. STUDENTS are encouraged to apply with the endorsement of a faculty member or equivalent, and may access proposal preparation guidelines by clicking on the link below. Students are encouraged to carefully review the guidelines and consult with their faculty mentor prior to preparing materials for the SEST program.

NEW for the 2018-2019 Academic Year:

  • All grant funds must be matched 1:1 with departmental or college funds to support eligible travel costs for student presenters.
  • Approximately $2,000 will be awarded in student travel grants per funding cycle.
  • Applications are due by the first Friday of each month. Proposals must be received by the deadline no less than two weeks prior to the travel start date. The deadlines for earliest travel start dates for the 2018-19 academic year are as follows: 

August 31, 2018 (earliest travel start date of September 14th)

October 5, 2018 (earliest travel start date of October 19th)

November 2, 2018 (earliest travel start date of November 16th)

November 30, 2018 (earliest travel start date of December 14th)

January 4, 2019 (earliest travel start date of January 18th)

February 1, 2019 (earliest travel start date of February 15th)

March 1, 2019 (earliest travel start date of March 15th)

April 5, 2019 (earliest travel start date of April 19th)

May 3, 2019 (earliest travel start date of May 17th) NOTE: the May cycle will only be held if enough funds remain to make awards in that cycle.
