Patricia Hatfield

Biography

Patty Hatfield has been a member of the Finance and Quantitative Methods faculty at Bradley University since 1990. She is a Professor of Finance and currently holds the Stephens Professorship of Risk and Finance. In the past 22 years, she has developed and conducted executive and management certificate programs for multinational as well as regional firms. These programs have been delivered in the U.S., Singapore and Russia. She has also conducted Chartered Financial Analyst review sessions in Los Angeles and New York City.

Teaching

Dr. Hatfield teaches courses in the area of corporate finance at both the graduate and undergraduate level. She has received the Midwest Grain Products, Inc. Outstanding Teaching Award and the Phi Chi Theta Outstanding Teaching Award.

Scholarship

The business problems that Dr. Hatfield is exposed to in executive development programs serve as a springboard for most of her research efforts. Earlier research has focused on corporate investment analysis, and she has also published in the areas of corporate restructuring activities, risk tolerance and dividend policy. Most recently, she conducts research for writing business case studies, examining investment policies of non-profit organizations and gender research. She has also won two best paper awards at the Teaching and Learning Conference in 2008 and 2014.

University

Dr. Hatfield has served on over 30 university, college and departmental committees. A few of the most significant committees include the Foster College of Business Curriculum Committee that designed a concept and curriculum for the award winning Executive MBA program at Bradley University. She also served on committees to design and implement executive certificate programs. She has chaired the University Student Grievance committee and served on the faculty senate.
