FCBA faculty win best paper for Journal of Accountancy

Two accounting faculty and one adjunct instructor for business management and administration were honored recently for having the best paper published in the Journal of Accountancy in 2011. 

Mollie Adams and Coleen Troutman, assistant and associate professors respectively in the accounting department, won along with adjunct professor of business management Gail Petravick for their article titled "Advising Financially Stressed Clients.”

The article, which ran in the September 2011 issue, received the publication’s Lawler Award named for John Lawler, former editor of the journal and senior vice-president of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. The award consists of a $500 cash prize and recognizes the authors of the best article published during the year.

The Journal of Accountancy is a peer reviewed publication put out by the largest CPA organization in the country.
