Innovation Through Collaboration

Bradley’s innovation through collaboration minor enhances your creative spirit in a business setting. The innovation through collaboration minor shows you how to work with teams in business settings to launch new products or services. Courses emphasize teamwork and business principles. You finish the minor with a capstone project for a professional organization. Though open to all students, the minor is primarily suited for business and engineering majors.

Convergence Projects

Convergence projects are a two-semester commitment offering students the opportunity to work with an innovative company working to develop a new product, component or process. The teams are comprised of both business and engineering students. Engineering students design the new innovation, with input from you on customer needs. Business students decide the best markets, growth strategy, and business model to suggest to the client.

Participating in a convergence project gives you a way to differentiate yourself from other candidates when seeking a job after graduation. Past projects have included new medical devices, sensor technology, and alternative energy.

Minor Requirements

Required Courses - 6 hrs.

  • BUS 361: Collaboration in Organizations - 3 hrs.
  • BUS 362: Innovations in Organizations - 3 hrs.

Foundation Courses - 4-6 hrs.

  • ATG 157: Accounting Principles – Financial - 3 hrs.
  • ATG 158: Accounting Principles - Cost Management - 3 hrs.
  • ECO 100: Introduction to Economics or ECO 221 Principles of Microeconomics - 3 hrs.
  • ECO 222: Principles of Macroeconomics - 3 hrs.
  • ML 250: Interpersonal Effectiveness in Organizations - 2 hrs.
  • MTG 315: Principles of Marketing - 3 hrs.
  • FIN 322: Business Finance - 3 hrs.
  • ML 350: Managing for Results in Organizations - 2 hrs.

Capstone Courses - 4-5 hrs.

  • BUS 400: Senior Consulting Project - 2 hrs.
    and BUS 401: Senior Consulting Project II - 3 hrs.
  • Certain sections of capstone courses deemed to demonstrate collaboration with the approval of the College of Engineering and Technology Dean’s Office, such as:
    • CON 493: Senior Project Planning - 1 hr.
      and CON 498: Senior Project - 3 hrs.
    • CE 493: Civil Engineering Design Project - 1 hr.
      and CE 498: Civil Engineering Design Project II - 3 hrs.
