8:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. Down on the Farm: The World of Farmers

Class 1101 (Lyndsey Forney)

Welcome to the farm! This week we’ll dive into the fascinating world of farming. What do farmers do? What happens on the farm? With interactive lessons and hands-on activities, we’ll gain an understanding of the important role farmers play in providing food and caring for animals. We’ll have fun exploring farm animals, crops, and equipment used down on the farm.

 

10:15 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. Math Bakery! Math as Sweet as Can Be

Class 1102 (Cara Heinemann)

Math can be sweet! In this class we’ll design a faux bakery as we integrate math concepts into a real-world context. We’ll identify and create shapes in bakery items, explore symmetry through decoration, use fractions to measure "ingredients" and fulfill orders, and use number sense as we count and sequence. This will be one sweet learning experience as we encounter real-life problem-solving situations such as figuring out how to divide a batch of cookies equally among friends!

 

1:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. Going on A Book Hunt

Class 1103 (Kennedy Pacey)

Join us as we embark on a journey through the magical world of exciting and adventurous books! We will use the magic of storytelling to go on fantastic journeys and solve captivating STEAM challenges. We'll trailblaze through adventures going from a jungle safari and under the sea to an enchanted forest and outer space. On Friday we’ll put our detective skills to the test with a thrilling book themed scavenger hunt.
