Biography

Susanne Nestory is an artist and educator who has taught studio art courses in the Department of Art and Design for many years. She received an MFA from The University of Pennsylvania and a BFA from Southern Oregon State College. Within the context of an undergraduate seminar, she participated in Phase II of the Christo Umbrellas Joint Project for Japan and the USA. She is a former member of the Phoenix Gallery in New York where she had two solo exhibitions. She also received a Dodge Foundation Fellowship for New Jersey Artists, which helped fund a three-month artist residency at the Vermont Studio Center in Johnson, VT. In 2019, Susanne curated the campus exhibition, His Own Private Circus, to honor the life and artwork of Christopher Holbrook, a Bradley Graduate in Printmaking who was an inspirational drawing instructor in the Department of Art and Design. She continues to be involved in managing a large donation of Holbrook’s artwork to the Peoria RiverfrontMuseum. In 2022, Susanne’s paintings were featured in The Oregon Years, a solo exhibition at the Peoria Art Guild. Susanne will serve as one of the jurors for the upcoming 2023 Fine Art Fair, hosted by the Peoria Art Guild.
