Hwa Lee teaches courses in Early Childhood Education and Special Education programs including ETE234 Language Development, ETE245 American Sign Language, ETE 331 Assistive Technology, ETE333 Early Intervention, and ETE467 History and Philosophy of Early Childhood. She is currently the chair of the Early Childhood Education program committee.
Dr. Lee’s current research focuses on assistive technology, the perspectives of early intervention professionals on providing effective services, evidence-based practices, and family support in early intervention programs. She has conducted both qualitative and quantitative research projects.
She has been an active member of local, state, and national professional organizations including the Division of Early Childhood (DEC) of the Council for Exceptional Children (CEC) and National Association of Educating Young Children (NAEYC). She has also served as the chair of the Multicultural Activities Committee of DEC. She is a frequent reviewer of journals and serves on the boards of a number of local education and intervention agencies.
