Dr. Kara Wolfe joined the FCS department in 2011 as the founding director of the Hospitality Leadership program. She is the CC Wheeler Endowed Professor and has co-authored about 30 peer-reviewed journal articles.

Dr. Wolfe completed her Ph.D. at Kansas State University. During her graduate studies she worked as a research associate at Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Prior to coming to Bradley University she was an associate professor and program coordinator for the Hospitality and Tourism Management program at North Dakota State University (NDSU). Her previous work experiences include Assistant Director of a conference


Dr. Wolfe teaches classes related to lodging operations, hospitality law, and hospitality accounting and others for the program. She also participates in the Bradley Study Abroad program and has taught courses in London and Rome.


Dr. Wolfe has worked on projects involving the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning, emotional intelligence, food attitudes, tourism marketing, and hospitality education.


Dr. Wolfe is on the Editor for “Journal of Teaching in Travel and Tourism”. She also conducts site visits for schools seeking accreditation in hospitality (ACPHA).
