Thanks to 1991 graduate John Welling, vice president of Innovation for Wal-Mart, for coming to campus this week to speak from his personal experience about the importance of the convergence of business and engineering. His remarks were entitled Leveraging an Engineering Degree in a Global Business World: A Bradley University Engineer Disguised as a Business Leader in the Fortune 1 Company. Faculty members in the College of Engineering and Technology and the Foster College of Business Administration are creating convergence opportunities for our business and engineering students to better prepare them for the demands of the 21st century global economy. With Mr. Welling's experience at Accenture and Wal-Mart, both global organizations, his insights were of great value to students, faculty and staff.
Note: Students that were unable to attend can come to the IMET office in Morgan Hall and borrow a DVD containing a video of his talk.
