Using What They Have Learned

July 1, 2010

After Hours Barbershop Quartet, based in Peoria, Illinois, was formed in 2006 by Bradley University students. Although they only intended to sing for a single talent show, After Hours caught the barbershop bug and continued performing, singing at venues ranging from kindergarten classes to formal banquets.

They have enjoyed coaching sessions with several champion barbershoppers, including Eric Dalbey of Vocal Spectrum, the 2006 International Barbershop Quartet Champions. In the spring of 2009, Kevin McClelland became the quartet's newest member. Less than two months later, the guys competed for the first time at the Illinois District's Spring Convention, where they placed first in the college division and second overall.
